Configuring eduroam using QuickConnect

To gain access to the secure campus wireless network, student, faculty or staff member will need to configure their devices to connect to eduroam.  

Users can either configure using the QuickConnect configuration wizard tool or manually.

In order to access the QuickConnect configuartion tool, you must be connected to the CSUSB_ACCESS network. Additionally,

  • You will only have to preform this configuration once
  • If you are already connected to eduroam, you will not need to go through this process

The following provides step-by-step instructions on using QuickConnect to configure your devices to use eduroam.

 

 

Windows 8.1

To use QuickConnect to configure a Windows 8.1 workstation for eduroam, please perform the following steps:

  1. To use QuickConnect, you must first be connected to the CSUSB_ACCESS network
  2. After connecting to CSUSB_ACCESS, open a web browser and you will see a CSUSB Network Legacy Authentication screen
    Click on QuickConnect to begin the configuration process
    At the Network Legacy screen, click "QuickConnect"
  3. At the Quick Connect Start Page, click Start
    At the Quick Connect Start Page, click "Next"
  4. If the following screen appears, click Run anyway. Otherwise, continue to step 5.
    If the following screen appears, click "Run Anyway"
  5. Click Next to continue
    Click "Next" to Continue
  6. Enter your CoyoteID@csusb.edu in the username filed and your CSUSB password
    ***NOTE: Please be sure to enter @csusb.edu
    Click Next to continue
    Enter your CoyoteID@csusb.edu and your password and click "Next"
  7. Click Connect to complete the setup
  8. Click "Connect" to complete the setup.

 

Windows 7

To use QuickConnect to configure a Windows 7 workstation for eduroam, please perform the following steps:

  1. To use QuickConnect, you must first be connected to the CSUSB_ACCESS network
  2. On the Windows Desktop, select the Wi-Fi network icon in the taskbar and connect to the CSUSB_ACCESS network
  3. After connecting to CSUSB_ACCESS, you will see a CSUSB Network Legacy Authentication screen
    Click on QuickConnect to begin the configuration process
    Select eduroam and click Connect
  4. At the Quick Connect Start Page, click Start
    Click "Start"
  5. Depending on the browser you use, you will be prompted to run a *.EXE file ArubaQuickConnect.exe
    Run or double-click the downloaded ArubaQuickConnect executable file
    At the Windows Security Alert screen click Connect
  6. The QuickConnect configuartion tool will load. Click Next
    Click "Next"
  7. Enter your CoyoteID@csusb.edu in the username filed and your CSUSB password
    ***NOTE: Please be sure to enter @csusb.edu
    Click Next to continue
  8. Click Connect to proceed
    Click Connect
  9. Click Close to complete the configuration process
    Click Close

 

 

Mac OSX

To use QuickConnect to configure a Mac OSX workstation for eduroam, please perform the following steps:

  1. To use QuickConnect, you must first be connected to the CSUSB_ACCESS network
  2. Go to the Wi-Fi icon on your task bar and connect to the CSUSB_ACCESS network
  3. After connecting to CSUSB_ACCESS, open a web browser and you will see a CSUSB Network Legacy Authentication screen
    Click on QuickConnect to begin the configuration process
    Upon opening your browser, you'll be redirected to the Network Legacy page. Click QuickConnect
  4. At the Quick Connect Start Page, click Start
    Click Start
  5. On the next page, select eduroam
    Click Eduroam
  6. Click on eduroam profile link
    Click Install the eduroam profile
  7. When a new window pops up and prompt you to install "eduroam, click Continue
    Click Continue
  8. Enter your CoyoteID@csusb.edu in the username filed and your CSUSB password
    ***NOTE: Please be sure to enter @csusb.edu
    Click Install to continue
    Enter your CoyoteID and password and click install
  9. If prompted to enter your computer user name and password, do so and click OK to continue
    If you were not prompted, please proceed to step 10
    Click Ok
  10. Once the profile is installed, you may close the eduroam dialog box
    Close the eduroam network dialog box

 

Android

To use QuickConnect to configure an Andriod device for eduroam, please perform the following steps:

  1. If you have already connected to the campus eduroam, you'll need to "forget" this network.
  2. Select the "eduroam" network
  3. Select "Forget"
    Select forget
  4. Select "Connect"
    Select connect
  5. Select "QuickConnect"
    Select QuickConnect
  6. Select "eduroam"
    Select eduroam
  7. Goto the Apps store and Select "Clearpass Quickconnect"
    Goto the Apps store and Select Clearpass Quickconnect
  8. Select "Install"
    Select install
  9. Open the "Clearpass" app on your phone
    Open the Clearpass app on your phone
  10. Select "California State University, San Bernardino"
    Select California State University, San Bernardino
  11. Enter your CoyoteID@csusb.edu and password and click "Configure" to complete the installation
    Enter your CoyoteID@csusb.edu and password and click Configure to complete the installation

iOS

To use QuickConnect to configure an iOS device for eduroam, please perform the following steps:

  1. To use QuickConnect, you must first be connected to the CSUSB_ACCESS network
  2. Go to Settings --> Wi-Fi on your device and connect to the CSUSB_ACCESS network
  3. After connecting to CSUSB_ACCESS, your web browser will open and you will see a CSUSB Network Legacy Authentication screen
    Click on QuickConnect to begin the configuration process
  4. At the Quick Connect configuration tool screen, tap Start to begin
    Opening your browser redirects you to the QuickConnect page. Click Start
  5. At the next screen, tap eduroam
    Enter your CoyoteID@csusb.edu
  6. Tap the "Install the eduroam profile" link
    Enter your password
  7. Click Install when prompted
    After your profile is created, click Done
  8. Click Install Now to continue
    You MUST accept the certificate to continue
  9. If prompted, enter your iOS password for your mobile device to continue
    Select eduroam
  10. Enter your username in the form of CoyoteID@csusb.edu
    ***NOTE: Please be sure to enter @csusb.edu
    Tap Next to continue
    Click Install the eduroam profile
  11. Enter your CSUSB password
    Tap Next to continue
    Install the profile
  12. Click Done to complete the process
    Verify your selection

 

To connect to the campus internet as a guest, please contact the Technology Support Center and be ready to provide your full name and contact phone number and/or email.
