Office 365 Exchange Online Calendar and Email Clients

Microsoft Office 365 Exchange Online, hereto refered to as Exchange Online, is an email and calendar system used at CSUSB. Some people use Exchange Online for just the calendar, while others use Exchange Online for both calendar and email.

Your department may require you to use one option or the other. Consult with your department's technical support staff to help you determine which option is best for you.

Your Exchange Online Account

Exchange Online is available to faculty and staff. Student workers employed by the University may also have access to Exchange Online calendar as a job requirement.

Before you can access your Exchange Online calendar, you must have an Exchange Online account. If you do not yet have access to Exchange Online, you can request an Exchange Online account using the Exchange Online request section of the Technology Support Center website.

Full Exchange Online

If you choose this Full Exchange Online option, you will use Exchange Online for both calendar and email. You can use Outlook 2010 SP3 for Windows and above or Outlook for Mac 2011 and above to access Exchange Online. Mac Mail, iCal, and Address Book can also be used together to access your Exchange Online email, calendar, and contacts, respectively. You can also access your Exchange Online calendar and email through Outlook Web App (OWA) or using a mobile device, like an iPhone. A complete list of supported clients and devices is shown below.

Exchange Online Calendar Only

If you choose the Exchange Online Calendar Only option, you will access Exchange Online for your calendar only. You can use Outlook 2010 SP3 for Windows and above or Outlook for Mac 2011 and above, iCal, or Outlook Web App (OWA) to access your Exchange Online calendar on your desktop. You can also access your Exchange Online calendar using a mobile device, like an iPhone. A complete list of supported clients and devices is shown below.
